A consent agenda is a list of items the board passes all at once with one vote.

In Leander. From Jan. 2023 to Oct. 15, 2026, 310 agenda items passed as part of consent lists, and 323 motions passed in their own separate vote.1 The two counts use different units: one counts items, the other counts votes.

Everyday comparison. It is like signing one form that covers a stack of papers.

Footnotes

  1. Our count of board minutes, Jan. 12, 2023 to Oct. 15, 2026. Consent count: lettered items under the consent agenda heading. Separate count: motions not on the consent list that passed. An earlier version of this page gave a different separate count, taken by mistake from a count of votes with no “no” votes. ↩
