The other side

  • Fast growth. The county grew by about 200,000 people from 2016 to 2025.7 This page does not tie growth to any one cost.
  • Top credit grade. S&P and Fitch both give the county AAA. The county says this lets it borrow at lower interest rates.5
  • The county is one of several bills. People in Leander also pay city, school and college taxes, each for different services. Compare them on local governments compared.

Questions to ask

  • Where does the commissioners court post spending by department for this year?
  • How does the county report changes to the budget during the year?
